Yesterday, the database became the basis of a moving memorial act. The Association of Berlin traders printed posters for all the companies that once had been on Kurfürstendamm – and found 119 in a stretch of less then 2 miles!

“The database “Jewish businesses in Berlin 1930 – 1945″ was invaluable for the preparation of the memorial route of the Christian churches and the trade association on 9 November 2023 as the basis for our research into the specific locations of Jewish businesses along the route. It is imperative that the database continues to be operated and adapted to new findings.”
Nils Busch-Petersen, CEO of the ‘Handelsverband Berlin Brandenburg’
